Simple enough. Do we get a permit and collect for charity in this years carnival in Newport or not?
Pro's:
1,Raising monies for needy and promoting local charity 2,Visibly seen to be helping charity therefore raising our own profile.
Con's
1,Hastle of obtainig Permit required. 2,Carrying buckets severly limits our interaction with public and detracts from portraying character. If spotters cary them it prevents them from doing their job. 3,Potential problems (again) with organisers about not collecting for their choice of charity.
Discuss please and give your Yes/No at the top of your post.

I say no. Instead we should use carnivals to raise awareness of the group (flyers, a banner) and use it as a publicity vehicle. People see us, they book us for their event, they make out a cheque to the Kerry Green Trust, everyone wins and no cash changes hands. I've already said my bit in the 'Housekeeping' thread so I'll leave it at that.

Despite the overall lack of replies ( lazy bunch of bastards ) ,having spoken to you all either in person or via the phone etc I think we can safely say the decision is to NOT collect at the carnivals in future. Therefore this is now group policy. Thread locked.
